Comments on the “Live Activity” for the week

23 Mar

Major Nelson has posted the weekly activity for Live and the results are in the “meh” field.

Xbox 360 Top LIVE Titles (based on UU’s)

1    Modern Warfare 2

2    Halo 3
3    Battlefield Bad Co. 2
4    Call of Duty: WaW
5    FIFA 10
6    Splinter Cell Conviction Demo (Download the demo)
7    Call of Duty 4
8    GTA IV (Purchase the full game for direct download)
9    Gears of War 2
10   FINAL FANTASY XIII
11   Left 4 Dead 2
12   Just Cause 2 Demo (Pre-order game)
13   Forza Motorsport 3 (Download the demo)
14   Perfect Dark
15   Borderlands
16   Madden NFL 10 (Download the demo)
17   NBA 2K10
18   Halo 3: ODST
19   Toy Soldiers
20   NHL 10

At the top of it all is MW2, of course, but don’t count out BFBC2 yet! Dice’s amazing shooter still stays strong at the number 3 spot! The Splinter Cell: Conviction Demo has done well for the week but it’s commonly known that Demo’s always doo well. AvP did great and where is it now? Call of Duty 4 still manages to beat our Xbox Exclusive Gears of War 2 but at least CliffyB’s lovechild manages to get back in the top 10, it is an Xbox exclusive after all.

The shocker for me was Final Fantasy XIII! Sure I knew it would at least break the top 10 but for the FIRST EVER Final Fantasy to appear on the 360 I thought top 5 at least, right? Perfect Dark does well as expected but I have a feeling the nostalgia wore off for a lot of people. Don’t expect to see a repeat of Castle Crashers, Shadow Complex, or BF1943 now. As for the most expensive Add-On in the history of games? Halo: ODST manages to stay in the top 20 but I think the fun of Firefight wore off for  a few people now.

As usual Halo 3 still maintains it’s spot in the Top 3 but that’s no surprise there.

Honorable Mentions: FIFA still proves that Soccer is the most popular sport! In your face Mr. Madden (but I love football more). EA still wins either way though.

Stay tuned for next weeks analysis of the Live Activity!

Now if only Sony could get on the ball…
